Privacy Policy

Who we are

Teambacked (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the website https://teambacked.com (the “Site”), a platform that connects local businesses with youth and community sports teams for sponsorship arrangements. Through Teambacked, businesses can sponsor a team on a recurring basis in exchange for benefits such as logo placement on jerseys and social media promotion, and teams receive payouts from those sponsorships.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [insert contact email] or [insert mailing address, if applicable].

Information We Collect

Account information. When a business or team creates an account, we collect information such as name, email address, phone number, business name, team name/league, and mailing address.

Payment and payout information. Sponsorship payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number or bank account details on our servers — that information is collected and securely stored directly by Stripe. We do receive limited information from Stripe necessary to operate the platform, such as transaction status, subscription tier, and payout confirmations. Stripe’s own privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data: https://stripe.com/privacy.

Sponsorship content. Teams may upload logos, photos, and other content used to fulfill sponsorship deliverables (e.g., jersey designs, social media posts). Businesses may upload logos and branding materials to be featured.

Communications. If you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide in that communication.

Usage and device data. We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Site, such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, generally through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies section below).

Comments. If the Site allows comments, we collect the data included in the comment form, along with the commenter’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.

Children’s Privacy

Teambacked is designed for use by businesses and team administrators (coaches, league officials, or parent/guardian representatives) — not by children directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through account registration.

That said, our service involves publishing team photos and jersey images that may include children, as part of sponsorship deliverables (e.g., social media posts). By uploading such content, the team representative confirms that they have obtained appropriate parental/guardian consent for any images of minors included in that content, in accordance with their league’s or organization’s own policies.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child’s image has been posted without appropriate consent, please contact us at [insert contact email] and we will address the request promptly, including removal where appropriate.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage business and team accounts
  • Process sponsorship payments and payouts through Stripe
  • Match businesses with teams and facilitate sponsorship agreements
  • Communicate with you about your account, transactions, or support requests
  • Improve and secure the Site

Cookies

If you log in to the Site, we use cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. If you leave a comment, you may opt in to having your name, email, and website saved in a cookie for convenience on future comments; these cookies last approximately one year.

Login cookies typically last two days, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me.” You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not function properly without them.

How We Share Your Information

We share information with:

  • Stripe, to process subscription payments from businesses and payouts to teams. Stripe’s role and data practices are described at https://stripe.com/privacy.
  • Service providers who help us operate the Site (e.g., hosting, analytics, spam/fraud detection), who are only permitted to use your data to provide services to us.
  • Other users as necessary to facilitate a sponsorship — for example, a business’s public sponsor info may be visible to the team it sponsors, and vice versa.
  • Law enforcement or regulators, if required by law.

We do not sell your personal information.

If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email for security purposes.

How Long We Retain Your Data

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, and afterward as needed to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations (Stripe-related payout records, in particular, may need to be retained for several years per tax law).

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, so that follow-up comments from you can be recognized automatically.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to our legal/tax retention obligations)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing

To make a request, contact us at teambacked@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

Embedded Content

Pages on the Site may include embedded content (e.g., Instagram posts, images, videos). Embedded content from other websites behaves the same as if you visited that website directly, and those third parties may collect data, set cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you’re logged into their service.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Comments and account activity may be checked through automated spam and fraud detection services. Payment-related data is transmitted to and processed by Stripe, which may process data outside your country of residence in accordance with its own privacy practices.
